Tuesday Twister! Whole Wheat Tortillas

tuesdaytwister

Today I am making Whole Wheat Tortillas for the Tuesday Twister! We use tortillas to make wrap-type sandwiches throughout the week.

I used Wardeh’s recipe located here.

Yumm, Sylvia! I’m happy you made these today! They are sooo good. Thanks for sharing in the Twister!

  2. Marg says:

Good looking tortillas! Looks like you made quite a few.

  3. Millie says:

Those look great! Do you have any tips for keeping homemade ww tortillas pliable to use for wraps? Mine are okay the first day but after that not so good and tend to break in half unless I heat them.

    • Sylvia says:

      Hi Millie,
Like most bread, tortillas can be stored in plastic bags to keep them soft and pliable. These tortillas have enough oil in them that they aren’t difficult to keep soft anyway.

  4. Ren says:

Perfect, Sylvia! Did you roll those all out by hand or use a press? Also, do yours tend to get tough when re-heated?

    Thanks!

    • Sylvia says:

      Ren,
I rolled them out by hand! If I made these every week I might have to think seriously about a tortilla press.
I don’t reheat them, we mainly use them room temp for sandwiches. So I don’t know if they will be tough, but, since they do have quite a bit of oil in them, based on what I know about other breads, I would think it would NOT get too tough when reheated. Reheating over gently steaming water is a good way to reheat bread without toughening it.
      Thanks for stopping by!
