Meet Karen Twombly

My name is Karen Twombly and I have lived in Maine my whole life! I am married to Robin and the stay at home mother to three wonderful children: Tyler (born in 1993), Christian (born in 1996) and Rachel (born in 1998). We have always homeschooled our children.

I serve in my church as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator. I am also becoming more involved with women’s ministries there. My husband is an elder and together we lead a Young Adult Bible Study in our home. I love my church so much! Their heart for the Lord and for spreading the gospel had me hooked the minute I walked through the door. I just knew immediately it was God’s place for my family. Thankfully I was not alone in those feelings!

I wish I could remember how long ago it was that I found Sylvia. I do remember it was back when she was “The 20th Century Christian Homekeeper.” My children were very small and my husband was a pastor and working a job on the side to make ends meet. I was desparate to talk to other women and so happy to find Sylvia’s online ministry!

A few years back Sylvia Britton asked me if I would like to serve in this ministry, now Christian Homekeeper. After praying and asking my husband’s advice, I was thrilled to say “yes” and have been happily serving here since.

It is my desire that God would use me as His instrument to reach women for Him and to help and encourage them in their walk with the Lord. I have certainly found it to be true that “he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” (Prov. 11:25)

On my blog you will notice an eccletic mix (thus the name “Gatherings”) of family and homeschooling adventures, Titus 2 encouragements, devotionals, and ministry testimonials and information. I hope you are encouraged and pointed to Jesus through this blog! If you have anything you wish to see here, let me know. You can reach me at karen@christianhomekeeper.org .
