The new show is called Homekeeping Haven and its going to be a lot of fun and very informative.

 Episode #1 – The Inaugural Show! My vision for the show, and I talk about what’s happening in my kitchen, including dandelions, violets, and chickweed.

Episode #2 – April 25, 2013: This week on Homekeeping Haven Sylvia talks about Starting From Chaos. When your home is cluttered and messy and you don’t know how or where to start…. start by listening in to this show. Sylvia shares tips and very basic, detailed instructions for decluttering, changing habits and keeping your home clean and organized after you declutter. There’s no condemnation here, Sylvia has had 5 children at home and knows how difficult it can be to get things in order and keep them there, she shares from experience.

Episode #3 – May 2, 2013: On this week’s Homekeeping Haven learn Pressure Canning and Water Bath canning basics. Sylvia talks about choosing a canner, stocking your canning pantry, how to water bath can and how to pressure can for novices.

Episode #4 – May 7, 2013: How to prepare your home and family for blackouts. Sylvia discusses what you need to have on hand, the pros and cons of different ways of lighting and how to prepare to cook, heat, communicate and live without power.

Episode #5 – Has Your Food Gone Bad? Sylvia talks about how to tell if food has gone bad; dairy products. Meat, vegetables, fruit and canned food can all go bad. Mold and bacteria growth can be dangerous so learn how to detect their presence.

Episode #6 – Children And Chores
– Do your children have chores to do in your home? Sylvia talks about the importance of age-appropriate chores for our children and gives suggested lists of age appropriate chores. Listen in and find out how chores in the home help to instill self-confidence, character, time management and responsibility in our children.

Episode #7 – What kind of mind-set do you need not just to survive but to thrive?  Today on Homekeeping Haven Sylvia talks to agarian-separatist-homesteader Michael Bunker about his fiction books in the WICK series and The Last Pilgrims and how those works of fiction are based on fact and can be used to learn how to think and to live during a disaster. They also discuss Michael’s homestead,  his land-sabbath, his animals and methods of food preservation living off off-grid.

Episode #8 – Homeschool 101 Part 1 –   Join hostess Sylvia Britton as she takes you through her family’s homeschool journey and talks about Learning Styles (and why you should know what your children’s Learning Styles are), Teaching Styles, Learning Readiness and Learning Environment. Sylvia also gives you a look into her kitchen and shares what she has been up to all summer.

Episode #9 – Pioneer Days! With a little planning you can have a Pioneer Day (or week!) with your children. On this episode of  Homekeeping Haven, Sylvia Britton shares about her children’s Pioneer Days and all the exciting and interesting things they did and learned.

Episode #10 – Homeschooling 101 part 2 – August 15, 2013: In part two of this series, Sylvia talks about Curriculum Choices from preschool to high school, Early Learning, Home School Laws, Umbrella Schools and Enhancing your teaching.

Episode #11 – Herbal Salves, Tinctures and Teas. On this episode of Homekeeping Haven, hostess Sylvia Britton shares recipes and techniques for herbal salves, ointments, tinctures and teas that you can make at home.

Episode #12 – Raising Rabbits August 29, 2013: Sylvia talks with Nick Kine from www.hostilehare.com about raising rabbits for meat. Find out how to raise rabbits, what you’ll need, how much protein is in rabbit meat compared to beef, what rabbit meat tastes like and how to get over the “Fluffy Bunny Syndrome” by understanding that rabbits are a viable source of food for your family no matter where you live!

Episode #13 – Apples! Apples! Apples! September 5, 2013: Apple season has begun and in this episode, Sylvia Britton gives you lots of information about harvesting, storing and preserving apples. Sylvia includes recipes for apple butter, apple jelly and apple sauce, as well as instructions on how to dry apples and how to store apples long term. Check out the apple coring video!

Episode #14 – Homekeeping Routines September 19, 2013: Join Sylvia Britton for this episode of Homekeeping Haven as she shows you how to use an Index Card System, Household Notebook and other routine creators to make your work more efficient and less stressful. Check out the video about how to create an Index Card System!

Episode #15 – Preparing For A Bad Economy – September 26, 2013: On this week’s Homekeeping Haven, Sylvia shares practical ideas for preparing your family to face a bad economy and ideas for saving money right now. She explains how her family has saved money over the past 33 years and has managed to home educate, send 4 to college and live on one modest income.

Episode #16 – Economics 101 -October 3, 2013: Economics 101- Sylvia talks about the economy and gives you a primer on what inflation is, how it effects a nation and a household, what has happened in other countries this year and explains how inflation shows up in your bank account and household budget. She explains why investment in gold and silver is a good idea for everyone and gives some tips for surviving hyper-inflation.

Episode #17 – Pears! – October 10, 2013: It’s pear season and in this show Sylvia talks about pears, where they grow, how to know if they are ripe, how to ripen them and offers yummy recipes for pears.

Episode #18 – Pears! Part 2 October: 17, 2013: More About Pears! Sylvia tells you how to choose, plant and grow pear trees, pruning, soil requirements and more.

Episode #19 – Putting The Garden To Bed October 24, 2013: Sylvia talks about how to put your garden to bed for the winter and preparing for a great growing season next spring. Cleaning up, repairing, fertilizing, composting and more are covered in this informative show.

Episode #20 – Thanksgiving Planner Devotions You Can Use October 31, 2013: Sylvia talks to Vickilynn Haycraft, hostess of Real Food Living, about preparing your heart and mind for the Thanksgiving holiday. This show is all about Faith and preparing to serve and bless others, it may or may not reflect the beliefs of The Survival Mom Radio Network.

Episode #21 – Thanksgiving Planning – Turkey Tips
November 7, 2013: On this episode, Sylvia shares more information from her book “Thanksgiving Planner” including turkey buying, handling, cooking and serving. Sylvia is joined by Vickilynn Haycraft of Real Food Living and they talk turkey!

Episode #22 – Prepare For The Holidays with the Survival Mom Radio Hosts
November 14, 2013: Hosts Angela Paskett, Donna Miller, and moderator, Lisa Bedford, join Sylvia in this fun discussion of being prepared throughout the holidays. Whether it’s having a well-equipped emergency kit or handling stress, these ladies have got it covered!
