What’s going on in my kitchen this week ….. Lacto-fermented beets (naturally pickled beets), egg salad, flat bread, salmon patties, mashed potatoes, big salads, lots of melon.
This week, I have simply not been able to get a handle on ……getting myself organized! Vacation Bible School pulls my mind in many different directions at once and why oh why does my mind wait til I lay down at night to run through all these things about vbs that I need to write down??
Its so hot here ….. that the cats are panting and the birds are pecking on the windows for a drink of water. No kidding.
If I could have a pantry built to order ….. it would be about 100 square feet of shelves with a work table in the middle, open up into my kitchen with 2 sets of french doors and have a few big windows in it.
The one place other than where I am that I might like to live is ….. probably Alaska. Never been there but it sure is pretty. I could live in Missouri. I could live in the mountains.
The most comfortable shoes I have ever had ….. are a pair of plain black flip-flops. The
second most comfortable pair was a pair of Birkenstocks. I had rather go barefoot but everyone seems to think its more polite to wear shoes.
My favorite things about summer ….. are probably the typical things…. I love not having to go places, not having to get up and start school. Warmer weather though lately its been kind of ridiculous. I like the sound of cicadas and quiet of a late summer afternoon, flowers and garden blooming like crazy, canning tomatoes, visiting friends, watermelon…..
I know I need to …… organize the school bookshelf and start ordering new curriculum soon, but I can’t seem to think about it right now.
