Homekeeper’s Journal ~ 3/1/11

The Homekeeper’s Journal is a way to keep track of your thoughts, in journal form, online. I have given you the prompts, written my own responses, and given you a Mclinky to use to leave the link to your own Journal entry. A link back here is nice. Its also a great way to get traffic moving to your blog and share your thoughts with others.

This week the Homekeeper’s Journal is about Spring Time Changes.

In My Kitchen This Week … I’m making my new flat bread recipe and freezing it. I will post the recipe as soon as I get a new card reader to put pictures on the blog!  I am also enjoying NOT making heavy stews and meals like chili. We are enjoying lighter fare.

Changes I Make To My Home In Spring … I put away afghans and bring out quilts, Spring Cleaning happens, white and lighter colors abound, lightly scented candles, forced flowers like plum and forsythia in blue mason jars and wide open curtains!

Changes In My Schedule … I get up earlier and start my day earlier. Bible study group meets again. School includes more field trips. New schedule for oldest daughter at work too.

Changes In My Yard/Homestead … Daffodils and crocus are shooting up, tulips are about 7 inches tall, buds are swelling on the flowering trees, ground is soaked with rain. The new garden spot is covered with thick black plastic to kill grass and weeds so that it will be easier to maintain later this summer.

What I Look Forward to This Spring … Warmth! It has been cold for so long. Also looking forward to having some field trips and other outings with the family.

Spring Brings with It … Allergies. Sigh.

A Sure Sign Of Spring … Birds chirping in the mornings, flowers coming up and sunshine peeking in my window in the mornings.

A Favorite Spring Activity … Breaking the ground for the garden, setting flowers in pots, sowing seeds, starting seed in the house and airing out the house.

Now its your turn!
1. Make your own entry at your blog using the prompts that are in bold type above.
2. Finish out the prompts with your own words.
3. Grab the Homekeeper’s Journal picture above and use it on your blog with a link to CHK.
4. Come back here and put the link to your blog post in the Linky below. Make sure it is your actual Homekeeper’s Journal post, ok? Not just the front page of your blog.
