The Homekeeper’s Journal posts will offer some great writing prompts so that you can keep a record of your days. Writing down your thoughts about your days can help you get a better idea of who you are, where you have come from and what God has done in your life. I think the main idea of the Homekeeper’s Journal is to see progress. Progress always makes us eager for more progress… at least it does for me.
I’ve added a Mcklinky for you to use to add your entry in the Homekeeper’s Journal. Look at the bottom of this post. Just fill in your name, blog’s name with the url to your Homekeeper’s Journal entry this week. And don’t forget to take the Homekeeper’s Journal image to put on your own blog, a link back would be very nice but is not required.
If you don’t have a blog, you can just comment here with your Journal entry or post it on Face Book as a Note!
What’s happening in my home?….
Its still cold! The power did not go out! I am so relieved. There is still snow on the ground. I don’t think any of it has melted yet, there’s about 7 inches. We’re trying to stay warm using the kerosene heater as a supplement to the regular heat. Thankfully we don’t have to run it too much. I’m not back to 100% yet and that’s why there aren’t more posts on the CHK site. I sure hope I can climb out of this funk and get going soon!
In my kitchen…I am still weak from being sick so I just can’t seem to find the motivation I need to do a lot of cooking. We’ve been eating of course, but we have eaten out more than we should. Right now I have kefir going, grains soaking, beans soaking and hope to make some jerky soon.
With our marriage… Well its official .. when mama ain’t happy ( or in my case “feeling good’) ain’t nobody feeling good. I guess a guy can only take just so much illness before he gets snappy. Leaving it at that.
With the children… The one in college seems to be more focused, we’ll see I guess. The youngest boy is starting to act like a teenager which is irritating but manageable, the little one is still my baby which is nice. The other two oldest ones are busy with their lives.
Around the homestead… just a frozen, wet, muddy mess.
In my “Inner Man”…. Still reading through the Psalms and gaining so much. Loving it! I hope to start a new book soon, called The Doctrine Of The Knowledge Of God by John Frame. I will let you know about it when I’ve read a while.
What is your Inner Man? In 2 Corinthians 4 Paul gives us a clue about what he means when he says “the inner man”. In that scripture he says that “our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day” (4:16 KJV). So for Christians even though there is something about us that is getting old, decaying and deteriorating and dying..there is also something about us that is growing, becoming more alive, richer and stronger every day we live and follow Christ. That is what Paul calls our “inner man.”
Its your turn now. What is happening in YOUR home? You can add your link to Mr Linky and let us know. A post here would also be very welcome so that I know you are following along. If you don’t have a blog you can make your post on your Face Book or just post and make your entry here

{{Sylvia}} So sorry you’re still weak from being ill. I’ll be praying for you, as always. Much love to you!
Hope things settle down soon, Sylvia!
Mine will be up tomorrow!
I want to do the homekeepers journal. How come I don’t see promts on blog page.?
How do I do this?
The prompts are in each post called Homekeeper’s Journal. Each week we answer the questions; what is happening ….in my home, in my kitchen, in our marriage, with the children, around the homestead, in my Inner Man . I add other prompts throughout the year. Just follow the instructions on the latest Homekeeper’s Journal post. I hope you can join in!
