Homemade Valentines

heart1

Everyone loves to receive a homemade Valentine Card. You can help you children make a very sweet Valentine with just a few items.  This project is very easy and is good practice for tracing and for using scissors and glue. You can offer as much help as your child may need, and allow her to do as much as she can, It will be fun for both of you!

Materials:

  1. Red construction paper or other sturdy paper
  2. White paper
  3. Pencil
  4. Glue
  5. Dark colored pen or fine tipped marker

Trace your child’s hand onto the red paper and cut it out. Cut out a small heart from the white paper and glue it to the palm part of the red cut out hand.

Now write your Valentine greeting around the white heart.  My daughter has written a message to her Nana.

“Nana, here’s my heart…”

You could make up and write your own message or use the one she used.

Those are really cute! We just make hearts and added a lollypop. I think we may make these for Mother’s Day in our co-op. :)

I think these would be a beautiful Mothers’ Day card. We had thought of doing that, too, using pastel colored cardstock and even some flower print paper.

    Love
    Sylvia
