Homekeeper’s Journal ~ July 20 ~ With Linky Love!

The Homekeeper’s Journal is a way to keep track of your thoughts, in journal form, online. I have given you the prompts, written my own responses, and given you a Mclinky to use to leave the link to your own Journal entry. A link back here is nice but not required. Its also a great way to get traffic moving to your blog and share your thoughts with others.

This week’s Homekeeper’s Journal is all about Beginnings ……..

Something new I would like to attempt in my kitchen ………..Peach Chutney. I have a delicious sounding recipe for it and peaches are in season…. I may go get what I need this week and make some. I crave peaches a few times a year. Love those things! Peach Chutney is chunky, sweet, tangy, spicey, yummy. Good with meat and great with beans.

When the newness wears off a relationship you find ………. out if it has staying power. Friendships can form anywhere, any time. But those which remain are the ones built on trust. I am happy to say that I do have a few friendships that have stood the test of time. And the main reason they have lingered is because of trust. Trust has been shown and proved and so the friendship remains.

The new school year starts around here on
……. August 9th. Public school starts the 10th much tot he consternation of my home educated children. This is one of the few years I have had all our curriculum purchased by the time school starts. God has provided what we need each year, and this year I am ahead. The biggest part of getting ready for school is organizing, making various notebooks organizing the bookshelf where all out materials are placed. When the days begin to have that certain something that is a combination of minutely longer times of sunshine, a cooler breeze, different animals and birds appearing outside around the house…….. I know Autumn, beloved Autumn, is on its way and school days with it!

I need to start ……..Hmph. Well I don’t like my own prompt because there are TONS of things I need to start doing or going again …..exercising more, organizing school stuff, reading more, redecorating the bathroom, freezing okra… believe me when I say the list is never-ending.

God’s mercies are new every morning so ……….. how can I not accept that mercy gratefully and extend it to others today?

Now its your turn!

  1. Make your own entry at your blog using the prompts that are in bold type above.
  2. Finish out the prompts with your own words.
  3. Grab the Homekeeper’s Journal picture and use it on your blog with a link to CHK.

I confess that I am dreading the start of another school year. This will be my 26th year, my students are in the 11th and 9th grades. I have been having a very hard time with a condition known as fibromyalgia and chronic migraine headaches – chronic pain and last year was an especially difficult one. But I want to finish strong. It is quite certain that it is not within myself to be able to complete this task. I am daily reminded of my need for my Savior!
I imagine that there must be other Moms that feel as I do (I don’t generally offer this information to too many others – I don’t want to discourage) But I do look forward to the end of this season.
Please pray for me if you are led. I need God’s help and strength.
    Thank you.

    Pamela,
My heart went out to you today as I read your email. I have suffered a great deal in my life with headaches as well. I am so thankful that His grace is sufficient. Homeschool is a huge task and not for wimps. I applaud you for your many years of labor in an honorable field. I don’t feel worthy to advise as I have only been homeschooling 13 years. I do understand how you feel. I wouldn’t have it any other way but at times we do get weary along the way. I leave you with words of encouragement from our Heavenly Father found in the book of Joshua. Just as God was with Moses and then with Joshua He will be with you. You are precious to Him and He is no respecter of persons. May God wrap His arms around you today and let you know you are precious in His sight. If you are up to it read the first chapter of Joshua and remember especially verses five and 8-9. I love the old hymn “Never Alone.” God bless you.

I did not quite follow your format this week but I had no internet. SO I wrote my blog posts and went to a local cafe to upload them and put them on a time delay as it were :( Very sad but I didnt have your prompts then! I love this and am carrying so many delightful things into my life and into my blog from all of the news and new things I learn everyday.

Thanks so much for all you do! Happy to have the internet back once more :) Teri in WA
