Homekeeper’s Journal ~ 2/9/10

The Homekeeper’s Journal posts will offer some great writing prompts so that you can keep a record of your days. Writing down your thoughts about your days can help you get a better idea of who you are, where you have come from and what God has done in your life. I think the main idea of the Homekeeper’s Journal is to see progress. Progress always makes us eager for more progress… at least it does for me.
I’ve added a Mcklinky for you to use to add your entry in the Homekeeper’s Journal. Look at the bottom of this post. Just fill in your name, blog’s name with the url to your Homekeeper’s Journal entry this week. And don’t forget to take the Homekeeper’s Journal image to put on your own blog, a link back would be very nice but is not required.

If you don’t have a blog, you can just comment here with your Journal entry or post it on Face Book as a Note!

What’s happening in my home?….
We’re watching out the window as lovely fat, wet flakes of snow come down and stick to everything. Snow makes everything look so clean and soft. Its been coming down all night and is still trying to come down… we have about 3-4 inches. The snow from last week had almost melted when this snow arrived.

In my kitchen…kefir, yogurt and bread this week … all yesterday.  Today the plan is to make salted salmon and stay warm!

With our marriage… we’re sailing right along…. looking forward to what we hope will be a trip of a life time this year or early next for our 39th anniversary.  We’ve been working together with the shelter and enjoying helping people together.

With the children… college classes seem to be a bit smoother this semester. Again, we will see how that goes. In all, we get along so very well and I am blessed to have these children.

Around the homestead… a winter wonderland. I’d like to go out and take pictures today.

In my “Inner Man”….I took a break from reading heavier stuff and read the first Mitford book. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I am still reading through the Psalms with John Calvin, that’s my daily portion. And I am think ing of starting a book about the theology of Rastafarianism… just want to understand since we have ties with Jamaica and have occasion to talk to Rasta believers.

What is your Inner Man? In 2 Corinthians 4 Paul gives us a clue about what he means when he says “the inner man”. In that scripture he says that “our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day” (4:16 KJV). So for Christians even though there is something about us that is getting old, decaying and deteriorating and dying..there is also something about us that is growing, becoming more alive, richer and stronger every day we live and follow Christ. That is what Paul calls our “inner man.”

Its your turn now. What is happening in YOUR home? You can add your link to Mr Linky and let us know. A post here would also be very welcome so that I know you are following along. If you don’t have a blog you can make your post on your Face Book or just post and make your entry here
