The Homekeeper’s Journal posts will offer some great writing prompts so that you can keep a record of your days. Writing down your thoughts about your days can help you get a better idea of who you are, where you have come from and what God has done in your life. I think the main idea of the Homekeeper’s Journal is to see progress. Progress always makes us eager for more progress.
I’ve added a Mcklinky for you to use to add your entry in the Homekeeper’s Journal. Look at the bottom of this post. Just fill in your name, blog’s name with the url to your Homekeeper’s Journal entry this week. And don’t forget to take the Homekeeper’s Journal image to put on your own blog, a link back would be very nice but is not required.
If you don’t have a blog, you can just comment here with your Journal entry or post it on Face Book as a Note!
What’s happening in my home?….
Its cold! I’ve just been trying to stay warm and keep the house at a reasonable temperature… which is not all that high, maybe 66* or so. We wear sweaters or sweatshirts and sweatpants around the house and feel comfortable. The weather forecast includes heavy snow. That’s not usual for around here so we’re getting ready for it these past couple of days. We’ve made the grocery run and pet food run, and we’ve got kerosene …. I think now we need some charcoal in case we have to cook outside!
In my kitchen…not much for the past three weeks as I am recovering from an illness that has really taken a lot out of me. But yesterday I did make homemade taco shells and tacos. Boy, they were good! Today I am planning to make spaghetti – nice and easy.
With our marriage… I really like the times when we can go places together and just enjoy each others company … but the problem with that is that lately I’ve been wishing we were already retired. I figure that retirement is at least 15 years away though.
With the children… the latest excitement seems to be over. the two who were tromping on my heart seem to have settled down, at least for now. Sometimes we get a little attitude going with the two youngest ones but for the most part, they are doing well.
Around the homestead… just a frozen, wet, muddy mess.
In my “Inner Man”…. listening to God speak through the writings of John Calvin on the Psalms each morning. Loving this.
What is your Inner Man? In 2 Corinthians 4 Paul gives us a clue about what he means when he says “the inner man”. In that scripture he says that “our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day” (4:16 KJV). So for Christians even though there is something about us that is getting old, decaying and deteriorating and dying..there is also something about us that is growing, becoming more alive, richer and stronger every day we live and follow Christ. That is what Paul calls our “inner man.”
Its your turn now. What is happening in YOUR home? You can add your link to Mr Linky and let us know. A post here would also be very welcome so that I know you are following along. If you don’t have a blog you can make your post on your Face Book or just post and make your entry here

I’m glad you’re feeling better, Sylvia. It’s good you’re so prepared in case of being snowed in.
Thank you for your website and journal! It is an encouragement to me. We are experiencing a lack of work as are many in our industry. Also, my husband is moving our business (custom cabinets) to a new location. I am considering re-entering the workplace to fill-in our income and pay-off debt. So I have to keep reminding myself of Philipians 4:6.
My devotions have been related to developing a more intimate relationship with God – truly knowing and sharing with Him. We get caught up in doing and even in reading His word and forget that He just wants to BE with us. We truly are His children and He desires our company. Even as we feel that way about our children, He feels beyond the beyond that way for us!
