I am enjoying the Homekeeper’s Journal, I hope you are too! It is a way to keep your thoughts about life together in one place online. Please join me each Wednesday to jot down your thoughts. Its so encouraging to read what others are encountering in life and how they are leaning on God!
I’ve added a Mcklinky for you to use to add your entry in the Homekeeper’s Journal. Look at the bottom of this post. Just fill in your name, blog’s name with the url to your Homekeeper’s Journal entry this week. And don’t forget to take the Homekeeper’s Journal image to put on your own blog, a link back would be very nice but is not required.
If you don’t have a blog, you can just comment here with your Journal entry or post it on Face Book as a Note!
What’s happening in my home?….
In my kitchen…I am so happy to be back in the kitchen after spending over a week in bed with a virus! Whole wheat tortillas, chili, sourdough bread and taco seasoning mix are just a few of the things I am making.
With our marriage… things are good right now, but as with all marriages, they haven’t always been. There have been some really hard times in the past 29 years. But we’ve hung on, sometimes it seems like we hung on to tatters, and God has been faithful to us. It was hard to imagine that when things were as tough as they got that we’d make it. But we did.
With the children… its so hard to have school when its so cold. I know, I’m a weenie. And if I am not careful I will teach my children to be weenies. So I get up and we get going on school by 8 but I had really rather be staying warm and reading.
Around the homestead… I have been looking at seed catalogs. I don’t plan to grow a lot from seed this year but I do have a few things in mind. Tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, beans and peas. The rest I will buy sets.
In my “Inner Man”…. working on dealing with disappointment in a godly way. When there is something that I felt was the best … and it didn’t come to pass, then I have to realize that it was not God’s best. More on this later, I’m sure.
What is your Inner Man? In 2 Corinthians 4 Paul gives us a clue about what he means when he says “the inner man”. In that scripture he says that “our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day” (4:16 KJV). So for Christians even though there is something about us that is getting old, decaying and deteriorating and dying..there is also something about us that is growing, becoming more alive, richer and stronger every day we live and follow Christ. That is what Paul calls our “inner man.”
Its your turn now. What is happening in YOUR home? You can add your link to Mr Linky and let us know. A post here would also be very welcome so that I know you are following along. If you don’t have a blog you can make your post on your Face Book or just post and make your entry here
