I‘m back from vacation and ready to start a new Homekeeper’s Journal! Are you ready? 
The Homekeeper’s Journal is a way to keep track of your thoughts, in journal form, online. I have given you the prompts, written my own responses, and given you a Mclinky to use to leave the link to your own Journal entry. A link back here is nice but not required. Its also a great way to get traffic moving to your blog and share your thoughts with others.
This week the Homekeeper’s Journal is all about SUMMER………
In my summer kitchen …….. there is a wide variety of garden vegetables! Last night I made Mache Choux, a delicious dish of fresh corn, okra, tomatoes and a little spicy ketchup or hot sauce, fried potatoes, pinto beans. Tonight I will make a potato and ground beef skillet dish.
In my summer yard ………. there are so many things growing and blooming. I am enjoying the bright yellow “black-eyed susans”, the red roses and all the garden blooms. The honey bees have come back and they are everywhere! Last year we had very few. The tiger lilies are blooming and they are lovely. I got tiger lily pollen all over me yesterday! It is maroon in color and stains like crazy.
On my summer reading list ….. I think I will go ahead and read the rest of the Mitford series books. I am just finished with book 3. I also have a few larger novels in mind, haven’t decided yet.
In my summer plans …….after vacation bible school this week I plan to do some serious summer relaxing. Summer has gotten very busy for me in the past few years, so I need to reclaim it! In the name of relaxation!
On my summer To-Do List ……… Well, I want to keep this list kind of short. But there are a few things I want to accomplish. I really want to get all our curriculum ordered and our school notebooks made up. The school bookshelf needs organizing too, and their are a couple of areas in the house that need organizing, like the laundry room.

In my summer kitchen …….. a trip to the farmers market put me in the canning and perserving mood! Made a Ratatouille to spoon over pasta. Freezes well also. A box of canning tomatoes will make Tomato & Basil soup, and will can several jars of stewed tomatoes.
In my summer yard ………. are the woods that are thick with green and a creek running through it. I never really appreciated it until I went to Chicago, last week, for a mission trip. Saw only buildings. Concrete and steel.
On my summer reading list ….. Wish I had to time to read. Reading is last on my hobby list.
In my summer plans …….I too would love to have relaxation in the summer. The family vacation is coming up in a couple of weeks. Really looking forward to it.
On my summer To-Do List ……… I do not have a summer to do list. That list has been moved to fall when the kids go back to school and I can get things done.
