Cinnamon Apple Toast

I found a new breakfast idea this week; Cinnamon Apple Toast. Its so easy and soooo good! Your big kids will be able to prepare it by themselves.

Ideally, to make this a healthful breakfast, you would use a whole grain bread. I was out so I used white bread. Brush a slice of bread with a bit of butter, place peeled apple slices over the buttered bread. Brush with a little butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon and what ever sweetener you like. I used sanding sugar in the photo because I like the sparkle and I’m all about the bling. OK, not really, but it was what I had. You can use maple syrup, brown sugar or whatever you like.

Place the toast and apples on a baking sheet under the broiler for 2-3 minutes.
The toast gets crispy, the apples get crisp-tender…. all buttery and cinnamony… YUM.

Here is my sleepy head having hers this morning…..

Sylvia, I wanted to tell you what I did with this the other morning.

I added a slice provolone cheese under the apples, then toasted it, til the cheesethat was showing browned. It was yummy and it added in a bit of protein to my breakfast.. Thanks for the recipe.
