Attitude Of Gratitude ~ Coming In December…..

attitude-of-gratitude

If there’s one thing I have learned, sometimes over and over again, its important to count my blessings and be grateful to God for all of them… Every.  Day.

When I get my eyes on what I think I don’t have and what I think I need or even how I wish things could have been, instead of just casting those cares and praising God, I get down.   Do you ever do that?

I’m down right now. I know its because I have started looking at my circumstances instead of what God is doing in my life.  I think of the story of Peter when Jesus called Him to get out of the boat and walk across the water… and Peter started to look at his circumstances, the water and the waves, so it wasn’t long before he started to sink.  I don’t want to sink!

I want to walk across the water with my eyes on Jesus and my mind in an Attitude of Gratitude.

So I’m thinking a good way to get my attitude right is to contemplate and meditate on the things in my life that I am grateful for….

Would you like to make plans to join me every Thursday in December for the Attitude of Gratitude  event?  I will be posting about something I am grateful for and I’d like you to join me.  I want to know what you are grateful for, too.

You will be able to grab the picture and link to your own Attitude of Gratitude post using mcklinky. See you then!

    I’ll be joining you, Sylvia… I do what you mentioned – get down instead of keeping my eyes on the Lord. I’m sorry you’re down now. {{Hugs}}

    What a great reminder to focus on our Lord instead of our circumstances. I would love to join in with you in December.

    Ahhh……it’s so easy to get caught up in our circumstances. I know I needed this reminder. Count me in.

    I’m in. At times I feel and think… Oh for this flesh of mine!! Always looking at unnecessary expectations and keeping the view on the horizontal. My God is bigger and I am hemmed in by Him. Why my anxious heart do I not consent to His keeping? and be glad to stay?

    With you in gratitude.

    Oh Sylvia, I have had a horrible day, and I still have more to do, and I’ve had to take away Rosie’s nintendo because of her rudeness and the inability to do a simple thing like get ready for bed without a tantrum. I’m alone in the house, and there’s washing up in the sink, and I had some bad news, and can’t find a thing to be thankful for today, so your post came at a good time!
    Thankyou….looking for the blessings..

    I really need to do this! I don’t know why it’s so difficult to do what I KNOW to do; namely, to keep my focus vertical instead of horizontal.
