5 Weeks To A Clean And Organized Home!

Announcing the CHK Spring Cleaning Event for 2010:  5 Weeks To A Clean And Organized Home.

Here is how it will work and how you can participate:

* We will work for 5 weeks, reporting in when a task is completed
* On May 8th we will end the event with drawings and prizes!

You will come to the CHK site for instructions on what room we’re cleaning and then during the week, report on your progress.

We will have some drawings for prizes and lots of encouragement along with check-lists and ideas for cleaning every area of your home.

Sounds GREAT! Are we to post our updates here?

    • Sylvia says:

Yes Jenn! I will post daily and anyone who is participating will be able to post their progress each day or just once a week using Mr Linky.. Many of the women from the CHK message board will be participating too, so you will have lots of encouragement!

  2. Kim says:

So does this mean I don’t have to clean my house till then? LOL! I’m kidding! This sounds great.
    Hugs
    Kim

    Wonderful Sylvia!
    I’m looking forward to it.

  5. Marly says:

Sylvia, I’m in! Let’s get cleanin’! This place is driving me NUTS! I want it to sparkle and shine.
However, I hope this will be easy, because I’m not really into cleaning—know what I mean?

    • Sylvia says:

Marly, I’m so glad you will join us. I don’t know that it will be easy… but I think it can be as easy or as involved as each person cares to make it, kwim? Frankly, my house neeeeeeds me to make it involved. :D

  6. Beth L. says:

A contest is just what I need to get me excited about cleaning, again!! I actually enjoy cleaning my house, but it often gets pushed to the side. Thanks!!

  7. Elizabeth says:

Wouldn’t you know . . . I started too soon. I have spent the past 2 weeks cleaning although I still have a few rooms to work on. I would have loved to have been involved in this with others but will enjoy keeping up with the progress of everyone anyway and who knows there may be a week or two that I can participate as well. Looking forward to it. Thanks.

    Elizabeth

  8. What an inspiring and motivating plan! I’m looking forward to joining in!

  9. Michelle says:

I will give this a try. :) Thanks Sylvia!

  10. Jen says:

I am excited to give this a try. I live in the desert and it is important to freshen the house before summer hits. Sounds fun, being part of a group with a common goal.
    Thanks,

  11. Catherine says:

I cant wait to clean my house! I mean I clean it but I cant wait for the deep cleaning that it needs! I have three children and my house desperately needs it!

  12. Wendy says:

Now, this is a plan! I am, let’s say, organizationally challenged. It’s been a huge task for me to teach my kids to be organized when I’ve never had that knack myself. This will the first time I’ve looked forward to cleaning….because there’s a plan to follow! Thanks.

  13. Diona says:

Woo hooo! Can hardly wait! I ACTUALLY got started with cleaning my ceiling fan today! :)

    • Sylvia says:

You are that much ahead of me, I haven’t seen the top of my ceiling fan since (shhhhh…..) last spring. :0
Glad you will be joining us!

  14. Penny Thompson says:

I would love to join in but in mid April I will be having my 6th major surgery since Jan.2008. Needless to say, I have gotten behind on some things. Do the normal things but have lots of other things that need to be done. Will there be suggestions listed so that I can refer to them at a later time. Enjoy the website a lot. Take care.

    • Sylvia says:

      Hello Penny
Yes, all the posts should be here for you to use later. I pray that everything will go well and that you’ll be back on your feet and doing the things you want to do very soon after surgery!

  15. Shari says:

I am looking forward to getting started. My girls and I will be going full out to get this place in shape. Should be lots of fun and encouragement.

    Thanks Ladies

    • Sylvia says:

You’re welcome, Shari! I am so glad that you and your girls will be joining us. I hope it will be a lot of encouragement and help to you.

  16. cathy andersen young says:

Can I participate? I am a working Mom and I am going through a divorce. I am doing my best to clean my entire house and transform my life for new beginnings.

  17. Tracy says:

I really love this idea. I will be there on April 5th ready to clean. We have only lived in our home since June, I don’t know how it gets so cluttered so fast.

  18. Erin says:

I’m in, thanks for the encouragement., Erin

  19. Kerrie says:

I will be joining also, I’ve been a pretty poor at being housewife and stay at home mom, need lots of advice and encouragement! Thanks!

  20. Heather says:

I am so excited! I need the encouragement, I find myself getting behind everyday! I wish all the children were old enough to help, it seems so overwhelming!

    • Sylvia says:

Heather, I know what you mean! I have 5 children, three are at home now. I remember days when I just wished some of them could help me out a little. But those days pass quickly. It won’t be long before you’ve got some good helpers, so train them as soon as you can with little chores and duties.

  21. Pamela says:

I am very excited about this. It comes right after 3 weeks of traveling and having family come to visit. It will be much needed!! And I love that it is spread out over 5 weeks and not all at once.

  22. Lynn says:

I will try it, though, that’s only days after I’m due with #4. It’ll be nice to have things a bit less cluttered.

    • Sylvia says:

      Hello Lynn,
I hope you won’t tire yourself out too much! I’m happy that you’re joining us though. I hope you’ll get a lot done before baby arrives!
