This week on The 21st Century Homekeeper my special guest is Chris Ray from www.preparedchristian.net. Chris and Sylvia talk about whether or not it shows a lack of faith for a Christian to prepare and how to answer questions from others who want to know why you prepare if you trust God.

Hi, I'm Sylvia. Welcome to CHK! Learn old-fashioned skills on my

I’m prepared to meet my maker–which IS the most important prep we can do. Also prepared for almost any short-term need and several larger/longer-term needs, too. But I really hope it never comes to that.
As a wife and mother, believe that it is my responsibility to see to it that we have supplies on hand to meet our needs. Most women wouldn’t dispute that, other than to perhaps think/believe, it is also the hub/father’s responsibility too.
Probably what is controversial is the notion that “prepping” seems like we’re not trusting God when we “hoard” food and supplies to the point that it becomes or is done in a sinful/irrational/idolatrous way.
